Shower of Compliments

Shower of Compliments was a series of six creative wellbeing workshops co-led with Ramona Eve Bigwood in Knowle West, where people gathered to share hot meals, make together, and practise the simple joy of giving and receiving compliments.

Together, participants made mini mirrors with acrylic stickers, recorded heartfelt audio messages into felt hearts, wrote compliments on each other’s backs, and created tiny envelopes to keep treasured words close.

Alongside the workshops, the community co-designed bold billboards with Daisy Hvnter, launched on Blue Monday and installed across Bristol - connecting Knowle West voices with the wider city.

The project ended with a celebratory Shower of Compliments installation by Ramona. Participants gathered to share kind words, reflect on the project, and add their own compliment tiles to the growing piece. followed by a trip to the billboards to cut a bright pink ribbon and shower passers-by with compliments.

In the summer, Shower of Compliments was presented at Weston-super-Mare’s Take 5: Weston Arts and Health Festival, extending the project into a wider public setting.
